The Jallainwala Bagh is spread in around seven acres. It is located in the Golden Temple area of Amritsar. The public garden remains proof of the maximum cruel public killing that the British Army committed on the unarmed Indian public in 1919 when the British forces under the leadership of General Dyer cruelly open fire on a non-violent gathering of men, women, and children at this location. The massive stone memorial at the lawn is a reminder of that on a black day in India’s freedom history.
Even today, you could see the bullet marks on the walls of the garden and many of them during the fire had jumped to death in well. If you want to know a dark episode in India's freedom struggle, The Jallainwala Bagh is a must to visit and pay homage to the martyrs. During evening hours you can watch light and sound show that creates a horrifying incident.
